Αναπτυξιακή Εταιρεία Δήμου Τρικκαίων (e-Trikala SA)

Αναπτυξιακή Εταιρεία Δήμου Τρικκαίων (e-Trikala SA) is the development agency of the Municipality of Trikala in Greece. It originated in 2004 as an “Information Society” office focusing on broadband technologies and municipal ICT projects, and was transformed into e-Trikala S.A. in April 2008. The Municipality of Trikala is the main shareholder, owning 99%, while the remaining 1% is held by the local Chambers of Commerce. By creating infrastructure and providing services, e-Trikala develops ICT-based applications that improve citizens’ everyday life in a medium-sized city, simplify public transactions, reduce telecommunication costs and deliver new services aligned with the local way of life. These applications also enable citizens to participate in policy-making and position local government and public authorities as guarantors of the proper, digital and remote operation of local society.
