The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of UOP involved in GenAISA belongs to the School of Engineering based in Patras and was founded in May 2019. The aim of the Department is to provide education and cultivation of research skills to students with the aim of creating scientists with a high level of knowledge and skills in the science of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department of ECE is strongly active in research and innovation in a wide range of subjects, which cover the modern needs of the labor market and developments in the sciences of Energy, Telecommunications, Computers and Informatics. The research carried out in the ECE Department has a significant impact on society and the economy.

Project Manager
Spiros Sirmakessis is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Peloponnese, with extensive experience in academia and research. Since 1997, he has coordinated and contributed to numerous national and European R&D projects, showcasing expertise in mining, business intelligence, information systems, and user experience design. As the Director of the eBusiness and User Experience Laboratory, Spiros actively bridges the gap between academia and industry through technology transfer and entrepreneurship mentorship. His leadership and vision play a crucial role in addressing the generative AI skills gap within the GenAISA project.
Michael Paraskevas

Prof. Michael Paraskevas is a distinguished electrical engineer with extensive expertise in digital signal processing, signal theory, and communications. His academic career is marked by numerous publications and contributions to the field, complemented by decades of experience teaching digital communications and hardware design at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As a scientific consultant for the Greek School Network, he has developed impactful eLearning interventions, showcasing his ability to blend academic rigor with practical applications. In the GenAISA project, his pedagogical and technical insights are instrumental in shaping innovative curricula.
